Lions Hope for Haiti
By: Phyllis & Jim Wilkins Lions Club International Foundation has continued our humanitarian efforts to aid the earthquake victims in Haiti. Lions Hope for Haiti has mobilized more than $1.5 million US for relief efforts. From around the world, such as the 200 large tents provided by the Lions of Sweden to the three tent cities in the Port au Prince area established by Haitian Lions, the Foundation is committed to meeting immediate and long term needs in Haiti. Fairfield Bay Now Recycles Medical Biohazards
During the recent meeting of the Fairfield Bay community Club Board of Directors on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, Francis Grillot, board secretary, brought up the question of how to dispose of expired prescription and over the counter medications. Board member, Carol Anderson, said that she would undertake the project and has made arrangements with Ozark Health Medical Center to dispose of the biohazard waste collected from residents of Fairfield Bay.
