2011 Adult Education Graduation Ceremony

On June 9, 2011, North Central Career Center Adult Education Program honored their 2011 graduates with a ceremony held at the Ozark Heritage Arts Center in Leslie. Both Searcy and Van Buren counties’ GED graduates participated in this formal event that paid tribute to their hard work and determination. Thirty-seven of the seventy-six 2010-2011 graduates were able to attend the ceremony.A large number of friends and relatives of the graduates, and other interested persons, were in attendance. The guest speaker was Craig O’neill, Channel 11 news anchor and former radio personality, who praised the graduates for their success in earning their Arkansas High School Diplomas.Overall Academic Achievement award went to Stephen Benson of Van Buren County. Overall Achievement in Writing awarded to Nichole Kuykendall, and Overall Achievement in Mathematics awarded to Cullen Kuykendall.Overall acheivement in science awarded to John Warren, and for social studies, Laura Murray received honor. For reading, Joshua Huie received the award and a merit award for overall achievement went to Sharon Thomas. Congratulations to all those receiving their diplomas. Well Done!
