Frederick and Betty Cruise celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 6 at 6 p.m. in North Carolina (the time & state where their original ceremony took place 60 years ago). They renewed their wedding vows with the Rev. Everett Chapman officiating. In the 60 years together, they have found friendship and a life of caring and sharing their love, while raising a family and building a beautiful life together. Sixty years ago, they asked the Lord’s blessing on their new found love and now want to share this special time with you, for you have played a special part in their lives here in the Bay.

Katherine and Richard Cahill of Fairfield Bay are looking forward to celebrating 49 years of marriage. They were married on August 27, 1961 in Clarinda, Iowa.

They are the proud parents of Chris Cahill of Lees Summit, Mo., Allan Cahill of Fairfield Bay, and Karen Russell of Des Moines, Iowa. They have four grand-children

Scott & Kimberly Bradley of Shirley announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter Brandy Mischel Bradley to Daniel Len Cullum son of Jerry and Sonja Cullum of Shirley.  The bride-elect is also the daughter of Chris Ward and the granddaughter of Sam & Anna Lou Ward of Clinton, Carl & Wanda Coleman of Scotland, Karen Bradley of Millington, TN and Charlie Bradley of Shirley and the great-granddaughter of Selma Campbell of Shirley.  She is a 2004 graduate of Shirley High School and is employed at U.S Bank in Greers Ferry.  The prospective groom is the grandson of Wilbourn & Macie Weaver of Shirley and the late George & Bula Cullum.  He is the 1999 graduate of Shirley High School and is employed at the Van Buren County Solid & Waste Department in Clinton.  The couple will exchange vows Saturday, August 28 at  4 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Shirley.  All family and friends are invited.

Jim and Lucia Hale were married July 16, 1949 in Coronado, California at the Sacred Heart Church.

They moved to Memphis TN. in 1957 and are proud parents of three sons, Jim, John and Stephen who have blessed them with nine (9) grandchildren, five (5) boys and four (4) girls. They will be here in Fairfield Bay to help celebrate 61 years of marriage.

Jim and Lucia became members of Fairfield Bay in 1969 and became residents in 1971. Jim was employed by FFB and through sales and management helped build Fairfield Bay. Lucia contributed to the health of Van Buren Co. working with FFB doctors and initiated the FFB emergency service.

Tom and Marilyn Parker wish to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of Chad Parker and Polly Smith.

Polly is the daugher of Virginia and George Surrier of Greenbrier, Arkansas and Hallis and Lisa Phillips of Scotland, Arkansas. Polly is a kindergarten teacher in the Greenbrier School system.

Chad is the son of Tom and Marilyn Parker of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas and he works with his dad in the heating and air conditioning business.

Chad and Polly will exchange vows at the Stonegate Glass Chapel in Branson, MO. on July 30, 2010 at 6 p.m. Friends are cordially invited. After a brief honeymoon, Chad and Polly will make their home in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
