Kenny Lasater announces he is running for the Democratic nomination for Van Buren County judge.
Lasater is a lifelong resident of Van Buren County and a graduate of Clinton High School. He and his wife, Gail, have five children and five grandchildren. He and Gail are members of Plant Baptist Church, and Lasater is a member of the Plant Community Cemetery board.
Lasater has been self-employed the past 28 years in the heavy equipment business, working in Van Buren County and the surrounding counties, and has over 32 years experience in road construction and maintenance. He has been a licensed professional bondsman for the past several years, managing a district office serving Van Buren and Searcy counties.
He is a member of the Van Buren County Cattlemen’s Association, serving as president in 2006-07, and is currently a member of the board of directors. He is a longtime member of the National Rifle Association.
A Past Master of Patterson Masonic Lodge No. 111 in Clinton, Lasater is a perpetual member, and a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He formerly served District 9 as a justice of the peace and was on the budget committee. He served eight years as a Linn Creek Township Committeeman. Lasater recently resigned his post on the Van Buren County Election Commission to run for county judge.
“As county judge, I will work diligently with the local municipalities and the economic development commission to bring jobs back to Van Buren County,” Lasater said. “Due to natural disasters and other reasons, our roads have become damaged and in disrepair, and I will use my knowledge and ability to restore them.”
“It would be an honor and a privilege to serve as your county judge,” he said. “I would appreciate your support.”
