Lions Club International Foundation has continued our humanitarian efforts to aid the earthquake victims in Haiti. Lions Hope for Haiti has mobilized more than $1.5 million US for relief efforts. From around the world, such as the 200 large tents provided by the Lions of Sweden to the three tent cities in the Port au Prince area established by Haitian Lions, the Foundation is committed to meeting immediate and long term needs in Haiti.
Closer to home our last meeting, scheduled for January 28 was cancelled due to the impending winter storm. Good thing we did as the weather folks were right on this one. Our scheduled speaker for last week, Chris Knife with the Arkansas Sheriffs Ranch will now be our speaker for the March 11 meeting. Our next meeting, Feb 11, will begin with dinner at 5:30 p.m. with Chicken breast in Marsala wine & mushrooms, bacon wilted lettuce salad, french bread, home made desserts and “Valentines”. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and our scheduled speaker will be Brian Moore with Fairfield Bay EMS. Hope to see you there.
