Ron Burnau Landon, 68 of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas passed away on June 2, 2010 at 6:34 pm. He was born June 12, 1941 in Lawrence, Kansas. Ron is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Landon and his mother, Genevieve Landon. He attended Lawrence High School and Kansas University. He was heavily involved in sports during his high school and college career which includes football, track and field and was on the gymnastic team in college. Later Ron joined the United States Air Force and served for 22 years. During this period he served two tours in Vietnam and Korea. He was truly a great patriot. Ron was a member of the Fairfield Bay volunteer fire dept. and a member of the VFW. Ron was very active with his children, coaching youth football and baseball. He enjoyed attending every track meet no matter what the weather conditions. Ron was always a supportive father and loved his children very much. Ron loved to play golf and enjoyed retirement in Fairfield Bay.What we loved most about our father was his generosity, even after his passing he wanted to continue to give to others. Our Dad was always supportive and such a caring person. We will miss him and cherish these memories forever. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Landon of 45 years. One son and three daughters and two son in laws; Terry Dwayne Landon, Kelly Elaine Hearne, Jerry Jile Hearne, Shannon Leigh Landon and Cassandra Genevieve Howard, Dustin Howard, Six grandchildren; Cory Jiles Hearne, Izabella Elaine Hearne, Easton Burnau Hearne, Marquis Anthony Landon, Tyler Jacob Landon and Donte Joshua Landon.The memorial was be held at the family home in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas on Saturday, June 5, 2010.
