Well another snow storm has hit the Bay and this time prior preparation avoided many problems. Our maintance department came in early on Thursday night and some stayed for over 30 hours keeping the roads passable. We were fortunate to not get much ice and only had one reported accident related to the weather. Most people don’t realize that our rescue squad stays at the DPS building during the duration of these storms and that they are volunteers. Many of our fine firemen also volunteer and help out in these storms. As I have seen time and again this community comes together during these times of need and makes this a great place to live.
We assisted 5 residents with weather related problems, had 9 rescue calls, conducted 2 welfare checks, took a report of an attempted break in at a residence, worked 2 domestic disturbance calls, served papers on 3 people, assisted the Sheriff’s office with a traffic hazard and worked one accident.
Traffic stops this week, 3 for speeding, 1 no child restraint, 2 no permanent license plate. Citations were issued to Zachery Callahan, Tamara Ogburn, Brandon Gresham and Johnny Reynolds. Arrests this week, 1 driving on a suspended license and 1 for domestic battery. Please E-mail me at cwaring40@yahoo.com with questions or comments. Be safe slow down and have a good week.
