Residents of the Bay have likely noticed the recent appearance of orange stakes in the ground within the community. These are used by Chesapeake Energy in their 3-D seismic work as they develop detailed images of the subsurface to help determine the location of productive pockets of natural gas. Weather permitting, 3-D seismic activity is expected to wrap up within 6 to 8 weeks.”
