Kids Miniature Golf Tournament

Thanks for the clubs, organizations, businesses and friends of scouting listed below, who either sponsored a hole of $25 or donated the prizes for the kids.  In Mead Park on July 3, more than 60 kids played in the tournament for ribbons and prizes; every kid was a winner.

Thanks also to Edger McCutcheon for providing the music, PA system and his Boy Scout display dating back to the 30s.  The Scout display was the best I’ve ever seen.  Boy Scout Master Mike Goodnight and his Assistant Scout Master Craig Fisher were there to answer questions about our local Troop #401.  Cub Master Jim Vinson was available to answer questions about Cub Scout membership and activities.  Girl Scout Service Unit Chair Mary Lou Gibbons and Girl Scout Troop Leaders Rose Owen and Betty Edmiston were available to talk about our local Girl Scout Troops.  Girl Scout Rebecka received the prestigious Gold Award last month, and Girl Scout Megan received the honored Silver Award.  We are very proud of both girls!

The Fairfield Bay Lions Youth Program fundraiser for scouting outdoor activities and advancements was an outstanding success.  Thanks to volunteers Geri and Larry Arndt, Maxine Woosley and those already mentioned.  Thanks also goes out to:  Sam Williams Lodge #89, Fairfield Bay Garden Club, Fairfield Bay Rescue Service, Fairfield Bay Firefighters Association Club, Fairfield Bay American Legion Post #333, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Fairfield Bay Lions Club, Mark A. Davis D.D.S., The Real Estate Center, Inc., Glen Dennis (Edward Jones), Fairfield Bay Hart Center, Mountain Ranch Golf Course, Vandygriff Shoes, Judith Wright, Goodwin & Herman Associates LLC, All You Knead Massage Therapist, Carter Hardware, Roger Jones Body Shop, Towery Motors, Dr. Bass & Beverly, Bev’s Hair Fashions, Sunset Mountain Inc., Reaves Food Store, Heber Springs State Bank, Regions Bank, Community Water System, Fairfield Bay Chamber of Commerce, Red River Convenience Store, Kegler’s Bowling Center, Vinson Appraisal Service, Clinton Real Estate, Faye’s Diamond Mine, Bradford Auto Parts, Fairfield Bay Community Club, Red River Ranch and Stable, The Clinton Wal-Mart, Fairfield Resorts, First Security Bank, Fairfield Bay Pizza Hut, Clinton McDonalds, The Sweet Shop, Osborn Phillips 66 and the Clinton Sonic.

A special thank you to Rose Owen for the posters and all the extra work needed to insure our success.

Thanks to everyone for helping the Fairfield Bay Lions Club Youth Program.

John Edmiston, Lions Youth Program Chairman
